In charge of INTESAR, the west phase entails the wiring of 630 kilometers of electric lines of 500 kV and three transformer stations. The wiring of the extra high voltage line and the scope of works start in the San Juancito (Jujuy) transformer station through El Bracho (Tucumán), Monte Quemado (Santiago del Estero) and Resistencia (Chaco) stations.

This includes also the east phase, which is in the hands of another company. The project finishes in Formosa, with an extension of 1,028 km of 500 kV with 7 transformer stations that close the National Interconnected System Circuit.

Its importance lies in the integration of 9 provinces from the north of the country: Misiones, Corrientes, Chaco, Formosa, Jujuy, Salta, Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, and Tucumán. This energy exchange allows imports and exports to take place among neighboring countries, especially with Brazil.
